A wikilink notes app for networked thought

Type [[a note]] anywhere to create a link between ideas. OriginText resolves those links into backlinks and a live graph, revealing the structure of your knowledge as you write.

Link as you write

The [[wikilink]] autocomplete suggests notes as you type, so connecting ideas is as fast as naming them. Hold Ctrl (⌘ on Mac) and click any wikilink to jump directly to the target note without leaving your current context.

Backlinks and orphans

Every note shows a live panel of all the notes that link back to it, so context flows in both directions. Notes that nothing links to are surfaced as orphans — a prompt to reconnect scattered ideas. The same links power the knowledge graph, and because OriginText is local-first, all of this works offline.

A method that scales

Whether you follow a Zettelkasten approach, a second-brain system, or your own link-heavy style, OriginText stays out of the way. All notes are private and stored on your device — no cloud required unless you choose encrypted sync.
